The NSSZ model is an interesting way of pushing the government and bureaucracy to look at laws which may no linger have any justification and forcing a debate.
How often has this possibility been used? And has it brought other changes, as well as that of vet schools?

Tatsuo Hatta is currently a member of the Japan Academy and serves as the Executive Board Chair at the Asian Growth Research Institute (AGI) in Kitakyushu.

Prior to his role at AGI, Hatta held several academic positions, including President of the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies and Professor at the University of Tokyo, Osaka University, and Johns Hopkins University. He also served as an Assistant Professor at Ohio State University.

Hatta was the President of the Japanese Economic Association from 2004 to 2005 and has held various positions within the Japanese government, including a member of the National Strategic Special Zone Commission.

He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Johns Hopkins University in 1973 and his B.A. in Economics from International Christian University in Tokyo in 1965.

Hatta has published academic articles in American Economic Review, Econometrica, Review of Economic Studies, and Quarterly Journal of Economics.
